The Bargol is one of the most powerful, dangerous mechs I've seen yet. It's one of the unbuyable ones, like the Chimentero or the Gigas, and I've yet to capture one.

That is a most impressive hit. I think the most I've ever done at once is around 5000 with an Ovaknight's core cannon.

Hard as Iron- I believe that there are stores where you can buy them, but they're pretty hard to find. To capture one do a called shot for the head, where the cockpit is located.

I can't land a called shots by the time Bargol's start appearing.  In my recent play through, I was hitting once in 10 shots without aiming with a skill of 12 and Reflexes around 16

I can't hit called shots anyway. I never use them because it's hard enough with normal attacks. How did you get 12 in that skill anyway? I get up to 9 or 10 or so usually.

Ages ago, in GH1, I once received 4 figures of damage from a Strongarm.  It was a destroy-the-generator mission, and those have endlessly spawning SF1 mecha.  I was surrounded and out of stamina.  But still...

I finally got lucky and won enough arena matches to get training, and now I have huge levels in everything. The difficulty curve is very tough early on, but becomes very easy once you're strong enough to qualify for training. You'd think you would have easy training early, and it becomes harder later...

Don't worry, once you hit the last few encounters, the difficulty comes back.

The thing to remember about the difficulty curve is that it's based on your wins and losses, not on the actual strength of your character. This means that it's a bit laggy. When you gain a new advantage (training, mecha, lancemate) things will immediately seem much easier than before, at least until you hit the wall of your new power level.

That's the generic missions, but some of the pregenerated enemies like AIGAION could use a bit of a different scale.  I beat it after a relatively tight match using 2 Bargol, a Savin and a Corraich where it managed to destroy the Corraich.  For my trouble, I was awarded a Trailblazer.

Early on it is very important to use a mecha with a low MV penalty (-2 at most) or you'll get pwned by a Haiho hammer or Wraith heavy missile barrage or vulcan far too frequently.  Once you Mecha Piloting is around 8 or 9 heavier mecha are more usable.

I've mentioned elsewhere that the Savin is the only superheavy mecha worth using, but I'll admit that both the Bargol and Green Pixie can hold their own, at a similar price tag.

The idea was that AIGAION's skills would scale, so it could be used at a variety of difficulty levels. I will now admit that this did not work and the only scaling that happens is between "damn hard" and "completely fracking impossible". I'll tell you what I'm going to do about it- up the value of the reward, and add a warning to the dungeon exit.

The Savin is average, actually. So much of its weight is in heavy body armor, extra crap like combat lasers and/or light machine guns, batteries, and frequently unnecessarily heavy weapons. It's more of a beefed up cruiserweight (think Holyfield) and not a legitimate heavyweight.

Yeah, but Savin are always the last mecha standing.  Their ability to soak up tons of damage is very important when a single headshot will kill a Bargol or an Ovaknight.

Somehow this made me think of the optional superbosses in some games (think FF7's Emerald Weapon).  GearHead could use one of those, assuming it doesn't already have one that I haven't found.
