Also, iirc, it's pretty decent xp to make a robot, with the cost being not *very* much more than paying for training - so even the failures can move you towards greater robo expertise...

Could be fun to have a sentient robot using Vista against another one using Linux. Wonder which would win.

Neither. Neither OS supports sentience.

kcwongs hard ware failure bleed over to this thread when he found he couldn't recover his old data with vista and he had several sentient robots in that save file

Yup... I'm sorry. I meant to post it in my save corrupted thread, but I didn't notice I clicked the wrong link.

So it is a wise move to make super glue bots and disassemble them as long as you have the cash?

assuming both operating systems deploy sentience software for the sake of this fight it would really come down to how they develop it

linux would would be easy with the open source nature easily fixing any faults and linux could still be installed on any robot that can't run the sentience software providing cannon fodder

vistas sentience soft ware would take over 5 years to develop or be taken from a company that microsoft acquires and whether it works or not it would be force fed (a.k.a bundled) through an update

Or, since the Vista bot requires so much patching, it is equipped with wireless internet connection so it could regularly poll Microsoft Update servers for hotfixes and service packs. It received one during the fight, got slowed down a lot, and when the hotfix/SP installation is completed, it restarts. The Linux bot uses the chance to destroy the Vista bot completely.

Or the Linux bot will just infiltrate the Vista bot through wireless connection and hack inside. The Vista bot will got smacked up in a very spectacular way (like professional wrestling), and then surrender.

Speaking of Linux vs. Vista, anyone played WindomXP sp-2?

I'll put a link to it on my blog. Which is loading VERRY slowly today. Here's a link to it (English Translation, also available in Japanese):
