Seems odd for such a high-tech Class 5 groundhugger to have a measely class 2 engine.

They were so busy putting high-tech stuff into it and forgot to leave room for a bigger engine?

Ah, that's an error in the mecha file. but apparently one of the validity checkers set the correct value for the engine when the mecha gets loaded from disk because otherwise it wouldn't work. Either that, or the game fails to install the class 2 engine since that's a rule violation, and then later when no engine is found a default class 5 gets inserted. In any case I've fixed the design file.

I'd like to make a new release soon, but I don't know if that's possible. Not a lot has been changed since the last release, I still need to go over the Japanese patch, and all the content I had been working on previously (which wasn't much, admittedly) was lost when my hard drive crashed. I'll let you know.

I dunno, there's been a couple of semi-important bug-fixes, like the storage mod overflow issue, and the NPC skill-level XP overrun issue (that one may only matter to me, however), and some others that I can't recall off the top of my head.  There's been a fair bit of cleaning, and a couple little pieces of story stuff that I can recall having been discussed.  Plus one or two procedural changes, such as giving Arachnoids jumping ability, although I don't know if that was changed in the GH1 code. The stuff in the Japanese patch did sound pretty intriqueing, though, I'll admit.  I can certainly wait patiently.  I've been meaning to work more on my own stuff, but I get up at 3:30 AM to go to work, and somehow even when I'm not that tired after work I still feel...braindead, I guess.  Meh.  At least my arm is mostly better now.  Still twinges if I put too much wieght on it, think I honestly cracked it, but at this point it's well enough that I figure it's not worth the cost of getting it x-rayed to find out.

Also, I was wondering what if any changes you had planned?  I know you'd mentioned possibly putting together a targettable version of the Bomb trigger for me, but I'm not trying to push, just wondering if you have a list of planned changes.  Also if any of the GH2 goodies are back-portable.

Anyway, either way I just want to say it's still one of the greatest games I've ever played.  I dunno if I've said that recently, but it's true.  I know most of the content I wrote doesn't really fit the flavor of the world, but you're welcome to change and use anything I've written.  I really want to get to the point where I can make a collected zip of the stuff I've written, but so far I've only got about six working missions (and another six still broken) out of about two dozen that I really wanted to write.  Maybe once I get used to this whole 'morning' thing (it's like a whole nother day that I never knew existed!) I'll have more energy in the afternoon.

Also, if anyone is still reading (boy I ramble...) if anyone played any of the missions I posted previously, I'd be happy to hear feedback.  Any feedback.
