Ataraxia related questions?
« on: October 14, 2007, 12:54:15 AM »
So our latest forum member got me thinking about the Martian Princess, so I went to go catch up on the comics to see if she'd ever shown up with a name.  (and I just realized I should run a forum search here...in a minute)

But that got me thinking about something else.

One:  Can the comic be considered canon for the game in terms of adding content to the Wiki?  (at least if appropriately marked as such) and two:

Since I couldn't find a design file in the GH2 folder with a designation that matches....

Is the AHAB-1 in GH2 somewhere?

ETA:

Note to self:

If comic is approved for game-canon note that the HMC-07A was an aquatic variant of the Wolfram, and that 5% of Earth's population is visibly mutated in some way.

ETAA:
Also, what are the battroids with the head-fins that the pirates are piloting?

ETAAA:

OMG!  I just woke up and realized something.   For Bear Bastard to have been canonically 'Involved at the Typhon Incident' I can think of only one possibility.  Bear Bastard is the MLM!  MLM has a 70's pornstar mustache!  Aaaaaiiiee!!

Also, what gang is that?  Because in my head I've been thinking of them as the Terror Bears, but that was, and always will be, the psychic carebear parody villians from the original TMNT rpg from Palladium.

Funny, I've been thinking about running a game of that lately. The book's in my backpack.

I love and adore the TMNT rpg.  The only palladium system that I honestly have to admit suits it's genre. Although it could still be improved by switching to a less crack-influenced rules set.  Still, a great game.  Somewhere around here I might or might not have a CD with PDF's of all of the books for it plus Villainy Unlimited and Ninjas and Superspies for their tie-in chapters.

Actually, I thought Robotech worked nicely with its system. Didn't like the way N&SS worked with its system, I take it?

Robotech being as it was practically the first movie/series tie-in RPG gets a free pass. And they didn't do badly. They did about as good a job as the WhiteWolf Street Fighter RPG or the MIB game.  Which is to say, it worked well enough to play if what you really wanted was to be playing Robotech.  If you weren't exactly excited about playing Robotech it starts to fall apart pretty quick.

One: The stories are canon, although I'm reworking the situation introduced in "Road to Gyori".

"AHAB-1" is the prototype of the new version of the Jos. It's not a production code.

Most of the mutations found on Earth are relatively minor: purple hair, pink eyes, that sort of thing. In the 5% figure I'm including both true mutants and those with engineered genes.

The pirate mecha is a BuruBuru variant. There are many different variants with slightly different appearances.

Bear Bastard is being retconned into GH1, taking the place of a lancemate I was working on named "Kuro". Unfortunately that plot (along with the recruitable Silver Knight) was apparently lost in my hard drive crash.

Oh, there was also a treatment written for a GearHead/Toy Division/Don and Doll crossover, but that is absolutely non-canon. Toy Division is definitely NSFW.  This post on the forum is OK.

Hmm, okay one more then, but my web-comics bookmark folder is around 300 now.  Too much more and my harddrive will burst at the seams.

(In other words, thank you for another webcomic link.  I collect them. =)
