A few questions from a total newbie
« on: September 01, 2007, 12:29:17 AM »
Several questions I didn't find answers too

1) how do you shut down your mech to play 'mix and match' with the parts (how to use mecha egineering - i get a 'you can't use mecha engineering when engine is running' message when i try to install some parts

2) where is pirate point ? I'm supposed to meet someone there, it's supposed to be somewhere in the the Dead zone, but I can't find it, nor can i find a wolrd map

3) I have two mechs, the corsair form the tutorial and the on from the mine, how can I sell the tin can as my 'service' mech is the corsair and i don't see any option to swap between these.

1) You have to be in a "safe" place, like (most but not all) town areas, or on the world map with all enemies defeated

2) Along the water SW of Ipshil, yeah for this kind of stuff you have to explore.  Make sure you switch to hover or fly, it's usually WAY faster than walking...  (especially after I fill the mech with arc jets, muhahaha)

3) When you find a guy who will buy mechs/mech inventory parts - usually a mechanic, but  not all mechanics do, and some non-mechanics might.  When you Talk to them, there'll be a "View Mecha" option, sometimes under something else like "I need repairs".  Under there you can select a mecha to sell, or to sell inventory from.

btw mechs you're not driving stay in the town you got them or abandoned them, or on the World Map, (or at the bottom of the mines if you already had a mech when you went down).  To move them to the current town, look for the ticket guy.

Big tip - if you have a phone you can telephone by jobname if you forget the guy's actual name: T ticket, or T shop for a random shopkeeper in the town, etc.  T mechanic, T cook when you're hungry - very handy :D

Well, it seems i can't access the mech's inventory when i'm in town. All I seems able to do is to access the character inventory and transfer stuff to the mecha.

Mech inventory is C->Field HQ ?  Again it depends which part of town, as it has to be peaceful to get to mech inventory.  ie Downtown Snake Lake is (usually) OK, Snake Lake Corporate is right out...
