Welcome to the Forum
« on: July 22, 2006, 05:14:43 PM »
I'd like to announce the the GearHead Official Forum is now open. Well, I guess that's probably obvious to anybody reading this... but for the people not reading this it would be valuable information.

My name is Joe and I am the primary developer behind GearHead.  I am originally from Cormack, Newfoundland but for the past eight years I've been working as an English teacher in Ulsan, South Korea. Other interests of mine include cartooning, miniatures, and literary criticism. My two superpowers are dog charisma and the ability to recognize 90% of giant robot cartoons from as little as a 2 second clip.

I'd like the people reading this thread to post their own introductions. At the very least it would be a good way to pad your post count, so we can find out what avatar Kornel has placed after the Dora.

Hi. My name is Epsilon, my real name is Ryan. I hail from Indiana in the you-ess-of-aye, and my current "job" is being a student. I'm interested in robots of all sorts, the Warhammer 40,000 universe, gaming in general, science-fiction in general, and anything that catches my fancy at any given moment. My major superpowers are not getting things done on time, quick reading, and having lots of ideas that I don't have the time or energy to make a reality.

Hi.  My name is Phil Mu?oz.  I did some portraits for gearhead, and I plan to do a few more when time permits.  I'm from the Philippines (yeah, Phil from the Philippines, sounds like a joke, but it's true).  I work as a nurse.  I have no superpowers, but i have a cool utility belt, like batman... but not as fancy.

Hello, my name is Kornel Kisielewicz, and my real name is Kornel Kisielewicz. I am from Wrocław, a city in Poland. Currently almost a Computer Science graduate, my main hobby is designing and developing games. Other interests include anything you can imagine.

My superpowers are the ability to make a hype around a non-existing vaporware project, being able to waste a year doing nothing, and the ability to suddenly get focused if I'm needed for help with someone else's projects :).

I've set up this forum, and I'm responsible for administration, so please send all forum-software related flames and death threats to me, and leave Joe out of it ^_^.
At your service,
Kornel Kisielewicz

Hi, I'm, William Davis. I live in the Northwest of the US, and will shortly be moving into a tipi with my wife. In my (ha!) spare time I'm working on another ADV for GH1 set in the irrigated Sahara.

No superpowers, but then I haven't been bitten by anything radioactive yet.

Hi, my name is Santiago Zapata. I am from Medell?n, the Colombian city of eternal spring. I am a professional roguelike developer and work on business software on my spare time.

My superpowers include magically turning games from other genres into roguelikes and alchemistically creating time to work on roguelike community affairs. I can also hold my breath for about one and a half minute and eat 2 or 3 big hamburguers in a row.

I am the developer of CastlevaniaRL, I also created a Roguelike Reviews Site, the Roguelike World Map, and a vapourware roguelike (Guardian Angel), I also have some articles and stuff... all this is at http://www.santiagoz.com

Height: 5'9"
Weight: Est. 160-170, subject to minor fluctuation
Location: Oregon
Bloodtype: O+

Heritage: Powell Clan tracable to immigration, and a bit of every species of Oregon settler. Little Norwegian, little Welsh, little German, lot o' English although it's mainly the Welsh that shows.
Likes: Cats, good jazz, rock from the 70's through the early 90's, 80's anime Japanese disco, my girlfriend (very very much, thank you), a broad variety of food and music, science fiction books, that rare class of music known as Science Fiction Tragedy, John Cusack, Harrison Ford, Viggo Mortensen (so sue me, he's hot), video games (particularly old ones), Whitewolf's discontinued Changeling venue, good poetry, and severely dumb or cliche movies not made by Disney or Don Bluth; Jhonen Vasquez's Johnny the Homocidal Maniac and Invader ZIM; Gattaca; The Princess Bride; The Last Unicorn; Charles Sheffield; H. Favorite Manga Series: Tossup between Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds and Maison Ikkoku.
Favorite Anime Movie: ... dangit. Um, Grave of the Fireflies, perhaps?
Hobbies: Collecting NES games (currently finding duplicates for later sale); playing NES games (Bubble Bobble, right now); roleplaying in just about every genre known to man; online freeform (usually fantasy) roleplay on mIRC; moderating this forum board; DMing a D&D game or two; trying to make sense of alien abduction, UFO phenomena, ghosts, faeries, reincarnation and pocket lint in a way which does not openly conflict with accepted science or my collected observations.
Currently reading: H. G. Wells' "The Island of Doctor Moreau."

Hi there, my name is Leroy Kosaka,
and I am currently living on the island of Guam.
I'm attending community college to get an Associate's degree
in Computer Science, and I hope to eventually become a
great game designer and creator.  (I've got ideas for games ranging
from top-down shooters, to RPGs, to platformers, to dating sims.)

Most of what I've done for Gearhead so far has been
posting up art for my little sister, since I'm
the only member of my family who has steady
internet access, on account of my being a student.
I do have something lined up for Gearhead, but it will be
some time before it's ready for showing.

I also don't have any superpowers to speak of.

Well, heya.  My name is Marcus, and I live in 'town' (Joe'll know where I mean :D )

I've had just about nothing to do with GH yet, but include Mecha and RPGs in my most fervent interests.  I 'work' as a fry cook at present, and play abandonware, fiddle around with short prose, and yak on online fora in my spare time.

My superpowers include general animal charisma (are all us Newfies like that, Joe? ;) ) improvising an amusing narrative backstory for just about anything, and being a total Grammar Nazi™

Grammar Nazi™

[sing]Ohhhhhhh {types while singing} If you want it to be possessive, it's just "I-T-S." But, if it's supposed to be a contraction then it's "I-T-apostrophe-S," {Short pause} scalawag.[/sing]
Thought you'd appreciate that. :)

Hi. I'm Unbeliever. Don't expect any real information. Except that I was born in Massachussetts. And I'm 15. And male. And weird. Really weird.
