Infodexes - How to use?
« Reply #15 on: January 08, 2007, 06:07:02 PM »
Actually, Hunter-X bioweapons are only feral because of a genetic instability in certain "breeds".

The current wild ones are probably about 50 generations removed from the more carefully monitored ones, so if a smuggler had one that he brought from a proper biolab then they would probably be safe.

And by safe I mean kill everything not explicitly defined as "Don't kill"

I thought there weren't any 'safe' ones left, though? They might eventually be reverse-engineered to build one that isn't crazy, but I don't recall ever running into one that wasn't either feral in the wild or captured(and still feral). Is that different in GH2, or am I forgetting something?

Well..most of it is just my interpretation and logic..

Hunter-X synthetic monsters were top of the line and then went ferral, but you try and keep an interplanetary corporation called "Biocorp" from doing their best to change that?

Still, I think we've seen a certain lack of success on their part. Entire quests in GH1 center around Biocorp's failure to produce safe products. It's probably safe to say that, while they're trying to make less feral varieties, they have yet to succeed. Whether this is the case in GH2 or not depends on the whim of the writer. :)

To be fair though, the law of averages says they have succeeded in some cases.'

Back to the topic at hand.

Suggestion: Can it be made so that players can access infodex information about monsters/robots/mecha that have already been "Sighted"?

I.E I'm running away from a horde of spaceworms but don't have the time to see what they actually are. I manage to jump into my Mecha and blast off to the skies. During the long flight back I check the infodex to see what they were.

Question: If I were to start up a wiki page on new biomonster and robot suggestions and people contribute to it, will you consider them?

You don't hear people complaining about NoGas, do you? Honestly, you have one little disaster that kills a few hundred people and they never stop talking about it. Except the people who are dead.

Grrr. You would ask for something sensible, useful, and very hard to do, wouldn't you?

Sorry for demanding. Having only experience in non-real programming languages (I.E Megazeux, Game Maker, Dark Basic) I do not have a realistic grip on the frustrating - o - meter.

Fine. I admit it. I like the idea of being able to have my own personal killing machine that does everything between breathe fire and eating people.

Happy?

By the way..what's NoGas? A ban on petroleum due to a massive explosion?

A creation in a thread about drugs a while back; an anti-flatulence medicine.
