Shy Mecha?

One thing I've been aware for a while:

Since the release of GH2, GearHead's "mascot" mecha has been the "Heiho". 

That name may have some meaning.  "Heihō" happens to be the Japanese name of the basic enemy from Doki Doki Panic.  Westerners know that game as "Super Mario 2" and the enemy as the "Shyguy".

I can see a resemblance, especially when you consider the way some of them are painted in Ataraxia Theater.  Not so much to the original SMB2 sprite, as to the way they look in later Mario works, such as this.

I guess we'll have to watch out if MUGL ever breaks ground on a "Catherine" robot....

I'll keep my fingers crossed for a 'Shoujo and the seven Haihos' quest. Though we haven't seen it in-game, the head of MUGL's Shoujo mech can be seen here:

EDIT:  :o this makes the most sense of all the explanations I've seen! The Haiho is stocky, stronger than most of its size and it wields a frekking maul. Dwarves! Gearhead has just become a lot cooler...

Darn.  I was hoping to take a Pretty Dancer $BIGMECH*, use Arc Thrusters to get directly overhead, land on the Haiho, dead-lift it, and chuck it at another hostile for an instant-kill on both if it connects.

*Custom-named Toadstool.  The Princess has dark brown hair and is not named "Peach".
