Spambots are, afaik, about as dumb as dogs.
And use a rather simplistic reply algorith.
Almost never post more than once.
And always have at least one link to an external website.
If you qualify for at least two of the above, your post is likely to be deleted.
Speaking of which, sometimes I almost delete one of SharkD's posts, since he has a link in his signature.
This behavior seems to support my theory that not all spam is posted by 'bots' and that some of it is made by humans. I've read articles claiming that a lot of spam comes from 3rd world countries where people are paid a few cents an hour to do this stuff. This also makes it difficult or impossible to take direct action against the perpetrators.
Well, that'd explain the "dumb-as-dogs" thingy.
Oh well, time for a deleting-spree.
Wonder if I should keep the one above as an example...
