Hi guys

I know, I'm hopeless :) got distracted by quite a few things... anyway, prolly wont get back to these for a while, so here's a link to the latest version of each of the models. Apologies if the geometry is a bit messy!

I tried exporting your models from Blender into POVRay, but they came out with surfaces missing.

For instance, the Icewind and Mebsy are missing their arms, and the Roc is missing its toes.

Any ideas on how to resolve these problems?

Just put the new Haiho model into service.  Looks good.

Well, I haven't encountered a Neko in my GH2 .625 playthrough yet but I'm confident that when I do, it'll look much better.  The GH1 MP's entrance will be similarly improved.  Thanks.

I created a checklist of which mecha have sprites/models/etc. already created for them.

http://gearheadrpg.com/wiki/index.php?title=Mecha_graphics_checklist

There are some definite holes in this list.

Is that checklist and this page: http://gearheadrpg.com/wiki/index.php?title=Model_credits

in sync?

I want to make at least one sprite/3d model for each faction/corporation that does not yet have a unique sprite for their mecha... preferably one that embodies the overall design for most of the mecha in that faction

Congrats on your 1000th post, SharkD, and I'd second the idea of at least having one sprite for each mech-producer.  Can anyone recommend a good Wings/Blender tutorial?  If so, I could take a shot at the Bargol/Pixie problem.

For the record, how do the transforming mechs call the second sprite?  Looking at the Cogan, it's a battroid with variable components, but only one sprite reference.  If it were to have a sprite for its aerofighter form, how would that be called?

I learned about Wings3D from Mount & Blade forums.  There should be a good number of tutorials for it on youtube.  I can't find the original tutorials I learned from, though.

Wings3D is easier to learn than blender but has a lot less features.

A quick search turned out with this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUt1rDflvU0

OK, I'll get that in the queue--probably a weekend project.  Glad for the comment section, too, since I'm more of a text person.

Thanks much.

You can also try Anim8or.  I think JH uses this for his 3D models.

http://www.anim8or.com/main/index.html
It's free and has a bunch of html tutorials on the site.

***EDIT***

I didn't want to double post, but oh well...

Dunno where you are, but here in US Eastern it's only Friday afternoon.  Plenty of weekend left for me to completely fail at implementing JH's concept drawing for a Pixie.

But I do appreciate that Chameleon you've left, even if you take a noncommittal tone rather than proudly state the work as your own.  I don't think I'll be alone in my refusal to moan or groan about one less Buru clone (sometimes with drone) in the Terran & L5 zone--only thing better would to be to have heard the news over the phone.

(...I think I'll stop there.  Convoluted enough without working throne, bone, or grown in...dammit, now I've got a perfect clause for them in the first sentence.)
