It looks a lot like a Motorslave from Bubblegum Crisis.
Let me just say, that's a good thing.

It's a nice mecha ARKARY, but it doesn't look much like I want the Aquillion to look. It's too skinny, there's no place to stow the guns inside the shoulder pads, and the parts are too angular. Still, nice mecha.

If it's any consolation, I like both. In fact, it would be damned amusing if the TDF or whatever, noticing the capabilities of the Aquilion, decided to reverse engineer it and craft an Aqualine which looked precisely like your mecha...

...but, of course, that's probably not going to happen.

Thanks for the comments. Like I said, it's just my take on the design. I just happen to like lighter, high speed designs. :)

Does Aegis have any sort of theme or distinct quality that's found in their mecha?  I've been wondering about what kinds of mecha and technology the various factions prefer, along with their preferred way of battling.

Aegis tend to use synthetic materials as Luna is sparse in metals.

Their overall style is leaning towards sleek, futuristic and evil.

The Aegis mecha also tend to be much smaller than those used by the other factions (except, of course, the Chimentero). Aegis mecha emphasize speed and accuracy over heavy armor or excessive firepower (again, except the Chimentero).
