Not quite a Robotics bug, but unusual...

Has anyone else noticed that self-aware robots seem to have high Charm? I've not made a whole lot of self-awares, but the ones I -have- made have had Charm scores of 22 and 28. Is this intentional, have others noticed this?

Like in the new Battlestar: Galactica, I guess.

I think robots should have an automatic penalty to Charm, like cyberware.

HEY-BABY, DO-YOU-WANT-TO-GO-OUT-FOR-DINNER-AND-A-MOVIE?

Err. No thanks.

Anyhow, I reckon that robots should be able to be built with an eye towards a certain purpose, So say you want to build a combat robot - When you use the skill you can choose to lean towards one of the extremes or just build a general purpose one.

I also think that you should be able to customise non-sentient robots like you can with Mecha Engineering.

I love that series! And I hate Australian free-to-air for not showing anything beyond the first season.

Gaias: "Last time we saw you, you looked more like walking toasters."

Those Cylons truly have injected an air of paranoia into the people.

Of course. Sentient robots are mostly a charming bunch.

Astroboy = well liked
Chii = fairly charming
Cyber Girl Mahoro = my wife says she's charming
The Vision = scored with the Scarlet Witch
the Tachikomas = downright adorable
Bender = maybe not charming, but definitely persuasive
Commander Data = the exception that proves the rule
Lore = Aside from the whole bit about killing people, who wouldn't rather hang out with Lore than Data? Charming.

Seriously, I'll take a look at the code. It's probably just that there's no modifier to Charm, but you need to make an exceptional roll just to get the robot sentient in the first place.

Charm is rolled just like the other stats, but it isn't capped at 2*skillrank + 1.  It doesn't always come out really high.

 Did I never upload my robotics spoiler?  I guess I should put it on the wiki sometime.
