I think mecha should stay in the hold. Just take the damned bus for chrissake!! :o

I can't. The only bus stops in the solar system are in the Federated Territories on Earth. :'(

You could add some fighter jets. Those are are also a relatively popular means of getting from one building to the next. :o

I regularly ride an aircraft carrier to school, so I guess that's not that unrealistic.

The Tauner is the only ground car manufactured in the L5 region, and it's a 19 ton, three-wheeled war machine (made by MUGL Enterprises) that I have never seen available for purchase. :'(

We need more (read more than 0) SF:1 vehicles/mecha.

I agree that more SF1 vehicles would make the bigger mecha seem worth it. Of course they would need to be present in greater numbers which is an idea I also support.

However, if the AI isn't any good then there could be problems...

rather hastily done... I'll attempt to smoothen out the lines at a later date... and a females version in the future, too.

I sure wish I kept high res versions of my portraits.

That looks great!

Is there anything that can be done about Goggleboy's fist covering Wrongness's face? I would suggest shuffling him to somewhere else in the lineup, but having him and Buffguy2 in the front makes it look more dynamic.

That does look great. Sorry about my extended absence... still doing English camp and working on stuff.

I would put the guy with the fist all the way in the back row.

Would this be a suitable loading screen?

That looks awesome. I wish that we could see some of those structures in-game.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, it's practically impossible to convert POV-Ray objects to other formats, since they are defined geometrically instead of as meshes of triangles. It's why I can have the same building be different multiple storeys.

Should I add some text to the image? I forgot to do that like I did for my other loading screens.

[edit]
I went ahead and added the text "GearHead 2" to the bottom-right.

I guess I'll get back to work on it. Any other requests while I'm at it?

Unfortunately, I had to quit working on that scene since my processor is weak and everything I've done to optimize the SDL has amounted to squat. So it still looks like trash. :( The atmospheric media especially takes its toll. Maybe I can continue working on it in another 10 years when we have 64 core processors or whatever.

Working on replacing the street cars with maglevs. Not totally happy yet, but it's a start.

[edit]

Here's a larger render showing the maglev in place.

[edit]

Slightly updated the image.

[edit]

And a new building type!

Added more details of the space station itself. There are now solar panels, greenhouses and a docking bay. Will add some crates or whatever lying around the ships in the bay.  8)

[edit]

Added some crates and some parking lines on the bay deck.

Are the spacecraft, mecha, and crates magnetized or otherwise secured to the "floor" of the docking bay in some manner?

If not, I would expect them either to careen toward the edges/walls due to centrifugal force or to float free (if the docking bay is on an independent axle and doesn't spin with the rest of the station).

Yes, magnets. Only the living compartment rotates.

BTW, for higher-resolution versions and some more discussion, see here:

[edit]

Just signed up with deviantART so will probably be discussing there, too.

Uploaded high resolution 2400x1800 images of this and my other loading screens.
