the deadly Door
« on: June 03, 2010, 09:06:18 PM »
I usually fight, in SF0, by hitting 'a' twice - once to go into attack mode and select the last/nearest monster, and again to do the attack. When the monster's gone, because it died or went out of view (e.g. because I've been blinded), this just does nothing. Unless I'm standing in a doorway. Then I get a choice: do I want to shoot myself or the door? No option to cancel is available. So I choose the door. But since I'm (usually) using a SCATTER weapon, I do damage to everything on the square - that is, I shoot myself. I don't usually manage to die doing this, but it's always a problem.

Could we please have a way to cancel out of the target selection menu? That is, the menu that is presented when there is more than one target in the same square.

There's also no way to cancel out of the called-shot selection menu; hitting escape still results in an attack. This isn't usually so serious, though.

I've added this to the to-do list.
