A picture's worth a thousand words...

You do nothing!
You gain +1 mecha!
Ask not!
What your country can hump for you.

Awww, poor Condor.  This is why Head mounted cockpits went out of style, I bet.

I don't usually win missions this way, but random crashes for no discernible reason happen all the time. Some of them are lancemates or enemies walking off cliffs, some are lancemates or enemies overstaying their jump times, but some of them happen to mecha that can fly indefinitely. They just... crash sometimes.

YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!

Ahem...

I've never WON a mission like this before, but I've lost some half-decent lancemate-assigned mechs >.< *grumbles*

I like to think even the very best aces have off-days and crash their mech into a rock or something, though. xD

Yeah... my latest mental image is of the pilot directing the machine to gracefully jump off that height 1 hill, then being interrupted by the machine's computer going, "I can't do that, Dave." Viewers are then treated to the mecha taking a head-first swan dive right over the edge.

It should probably be a lot harder to crash-via-falling on asteroids than normal, though. S'easier to fly, after all...

I no longer give lancemates flight capable armor. I also avoid theles level 2 if my lancemates are in jump-capable mechs.

Also, crashing in _space_. Pretty lethal there, too, as its guaranteed to make a mech lose a limb, unlike crashing in an asteroid.

I thought the crashing in space bug had been fixed ages ago. Has anyone else encountered this?

The easiest way to crash in space is to use a roc, click fly, then try to move.

space crash pic

I've also seen other mecha crash in space, but can't replicate it as easily as with a Roc.

Ah, menu mode, there's your problem. I should add a warning message that menu mode isn't supported ATM in GH2.

Edit- To prevent this problem, don't attempt to change your movement mode in the menu interface. If your mecha appears on a space map you are already using Space Flight; attempting to change to any other mode (or jump) will result in a crash and possibly other unexpected behavior.
