Mystery contact
« on: May 22, 2010, 06:06:41 PM »
I just finished a battle - as in, just blew up the last mech - and got a call from someone, but they had nothing to say - as in, just  one of the usual nothing-to-say messages, and "ask about rumours", "goodbye", and "where are you".

I am in Galconde spinner, and Rishiri hates me (the trainers and politicians threaten me if I go into the admin building). I was wandering around, bumped into one of those "patrol" events, and was challenged. I tried to say "sorry, I'm leaving" but no dice; the battle was on. As soon as I won it I got this call. The person was wearing Rishiri colours and claimed to be in Yatate tower(?). I have savegames from the beginning of the battle and just after the call.

I have a feeling there are a couple of bugs in Galconde spinner, and so I've been avoiding it and just realoding any game that leads to it.

1) this thing you've mentioned. Some beaurocrat in galconde spinner keeps on calling me whenever I finish an battle in the interior, usually from one of the patrols. While still in the battlefield, the very instant the last mech dies, I'll get "you're not welcome here" or some such.

2)  a plot saying "get more money", "you can do that in galconde spinner" will result me in getting stuck. The plot doesn't advance. I get to galconde spinner... then nothing. No e-mails. Talking to everyone in galconde spinner doesn't result in a mission that lets me advance to the next episode. At first I thought that the lancemates approaching me for a "lucrative mission that doesn't go through the usual channels" was the plot advancement, but apparently it isn't. I also thought that the guy contacting me after each patrol challenge was somehow important to the plot, but it doesn't seem to be the case, either.

However, this happened to me in .625. I haven't been to galconde in .626.

This is a bug. It's not something unique to Galconde or any other spinner, but a problem with the defense patrol plot. It gets triggered any time you visit a city which you are an enemy of. This problem will be fixed in the next release.

wipmeeniebom- If there's no email or rumors, check the news. There are a few plots for which the rumor doesn't seem to be working.
