What's the PV cutoff for a mecha being eligible as a starting mech?

The base limit is 250,000, but if your character starts with a lot of cash some of this can be contributed towards the mecha for a hard limit of 350,000 points.

I see.

So would this mean that choosing an inferior mecha results in monetary compensation? That would make it plausible for characters to not start out with a mecha or seek to become a cavalier.

It would also be nice for more details to be viewed when selecting the startup mecha. Mebsy? BuruBuru? Galah? Newbies would likely be saying 'Whatah?' ^_~

Newbies should be getting their characters from Basic Mode... but point taken. It'd be useful for oldies to see the mecha stats as well.

Taking an inferior mecha will only increase your starting money if the mecha's cost is above 250,000. So, you could say that there's no saving for taking an inferior mecha, but you will pay extra for taking a superior one.
