My Week So Far
« on: September 15, 2006, 10:26:19 AM »
It's been a busy week. Yesterday my sister and my father left Newfoundland for an art therapy conference in Denmark. Sandi will be giving a presentation there; Dad is just tagging along as her assistant. She's apparently going to be interviewed for TV while there so it's all quite exciting.

Meanwhile I've been working on GearHead quests and pimping my comics site. I signed up for some of those "Top 100" webcomics sites; right now at BuzzComics Ataraxia Theatre is a few steps ahead of The Magnificient Milkmaid in the weird comics category. I don't care too much about my ranking, but if I'm more popular than porn that must mean that I'm doing something right.

Mostly I'm just trying to avoid the huge pile of interface issues that GH2 has... I don't know why, I just don't like working on the interface. I know some people can sit there and rearrange windows all day but I'm not one of them. Still, it has to be done, and once it's done I can forget about it for a while.

Wednesday I caught a cold. Rather, I should say, I was smacked upside the head with a cold. Usually sickness takes some time to happen... you get a stuffy nose, maybe a bit of a headache, then the symptoms worsen... Not this virus, apparently. On Tuesday I was fine. Wednesday I was praying for a quick death. Thursday I went to the doctor and got some happy pills. Tomorrow I stay at home and crash.

So, that's my week. This weekend I intend to stay home, drink lots of fluids, work on the GH2 UI, and maybe do some illustration. I have an idea for a new GHU comic strip dealing with the Unification War... I may post ideas about that later. Now, it's back to class.

Dang.
"This... is an asspisious day. We all know what day it is. A proud day for all the planets of the Alliance... Unification Day!"

So, I suppose I caught mine, as opposed to getting smacked upside the head by it; a few weeks ago, I woke up Monday morning utterly and totally incapacitated for practical purposes. Unable to hold down food or drink. Next day... I was fine.
It was a little weird.

I hope JH you do not have the bird flu. Our "leaders" have got everyone so scared about this flu which might become transmittable between people that they are forcing the 3rd world into destroying millions of birds as soon as someone sneazes just so that they can justify building a stockpile of anti bird flu drugs. I wonder who payed for the election...

sorry bout the rant, I hate head colds. The best flu I ever got (was actually a kidny infection in the end) was when I was reading book 8 in the wheel of time series by robert jordan. I started halucenating and my parents tell me I was asking for people in the book and if they were ok and what we were going to do now. Felt like I got beat with phone books too.

I remember the big bird flu scare a few years ago. The Canadian government  to limit "unnessecary contact with live poultry". I found that phrase very funny for some reason. It was also around this time that an apparently tame dove would sometimes fly in through my window to steal food from my rabbits...

Hopefully this flu will go as quickly as it came.
