Cyberware / Status Effect Question
« on: May 05, 2010, 06:28:29 PM »
Using GearHead .625

1.) I have 12 Ego
2.) I have the Extropian talent
-
This should give me a total of 8 cyberware points that I can use without getting Cyberdisfunctions

Is this correct?

If yes: Is a blinking blue C status effect ("Your body hurts all over", -5 reflexes) related to cyberware overuse?

If yes to both of the first two: Why does a combination of Spinal Pilot (+3 Piloting), Fashion Cybereyes (+1 Charm, +1 Perception) and Sensory Amplifier (+3 Perception), with a total of +8 bonus points, afflict me with said malady?

If no the second question: What causes this status ailment?

--

edit: I keep gettinig cyberware status effects, the latest of which was the very unpleasant "your implants are shutting down" one.

I shouldn't be getting them, so ffs, why AM I getting them.

As far as I understand the code correctly, yes.

If yes: Is a blinking blue C status effect ("Your body hurts all over", -5 reflexes) related to cyberware overuse?

Yep.

If yes to both of the first two: Why does a combination of Spinal Pilot (+3 Piloting), Fashion Cybereyes (+1 Charm, +1 Perception) and Sensory Amplifier (+3 Perception), with a total of +8 bonus points, afflict me with said malady?

Nope, it only counts as 6 trauma points. Skill cyberware only counts for 1 if the skill is a combat skill, and does not count at all for non-combat skill (perfect pitch ears).
But this is way lower than your limit, so it's still strange.

Scrap that, I misread the code. The Sensory Amplifier counts as 4 trauma points. So your total is 9 trauma points, which is enough to get dysfunctions. (That makes the perfect pitch ears less overpowered then.)

If no the second question: What causes this status ailment?

I have no idea here, especially if you got new ailments. Are you sure you only have these three implants?

Gah. Wish I had known that beforehands. Why does the Amplifier have more trauma attached than it should have =(

Thanks, though :)

edit: what is the prerequisite for the Cameraderie talent?

Sorry again, made a mistake (again). It's not the amplifier which have a 4 trauma point, but the Spinal Pilot. Skill cyberware cost 1 more trauma point for combat skills.

The requirement for camaraderie is the conversation skill at 5.
