Annotations:
No save scumming except when a lancemate gets poisoned in a dungeon.
Thoughts:
I lost the final battle twice. On the first attempt, I destroyed the enemy battleship and got destroyed in the following skirmish. The second attempt was ended by too much hitting my hairwire'd mech at once. Third and final attempt ended without my mecha having a scratch, because this time I just used a Savin to sit back and shoot Lucky Jack missiles at everybody and mopped up stationary targets with Breaker Cannon and Reaver Railgun hits.
Luckily, the battleship stays destroyed. It might be interesting to havea different Epilogue, if one manages to destroy the battleship but not the Nemesis' lances.
During the story, the Privateer guild started their own weapon program. Nothing ever came of it.
It would be nice if factory promotions would be recorded in the Personal history for cosmetic reasons.
For most of the story I used a Vadel with two Mecha Blunderbusses instead of the Plasma Cannon and Disabler Rocket 30s for the Leg Mounts. Basically every talking enemy in the CoreStory and almost every arena one-on-one was ended after the second BV:Max volley of the Disabler missiles.
After I lost too many lancemates, I took Camaderie for cannon fodder and people to take over the Mecha Engineering for me. After I lost a mission I could no longer recruit my Elite and Ace rated friends. An indicator for what rating the PC is currently considered would be nice. Maybe a terminal at the Cavalier's Club or Spaceport where you can look up famours Cavaliers like in the Personadex only with an entry for yourself.
I lost too many Lancemates for my liking. Aside from the random death in mecha combat, their bodies are all burried in the depths of Cayley Caves and Cayley Core, where the lack of open terrain and the lancemates' random movement make them easy prey to higher level monsters.
I failed the Cayley Core quest when the Data Slate in my inventory was destroyed, despite me being able to repair it. That was annoying.
At the personal combat scale, I experienced no difficultie after I got the Saga Suit in Emerald Spinner and a Heavy Rocket Rifle in one of the Black Markets. Theles Spinner Arena consisted of me waiting for everybody to come towards me and firing Salvos of Frag-Missiles at them. None of the melee enemies ever got into melee range. The Boom Club could use a little bit of cover.
Some cities spawn without somebody who buys mecha in the Spaceport this is inconvenient, especially if it happens in a city whre I can easily get faction missions.
The new squad mechanic of enemy mechas is nice, but they seriously lack something better than a Daum to wield that bazook for support sometimes.
