Dwarf Fortress (Just another ascii game)

Another ascii game.. a cross between dungeon master, simcity and pharaon... with a really impresive deep gameplay..
I really love this game :) a lot of ascii dwarves (mostly) at your command
http://www.bay12games.com/
To enjoy this game really need to read the manual a couple of times and have the wiki at hand to find how to do some things...
Feed them, bed them, clothe them, armour them, drown them, bury them .. and love them..
Also there is an adventurer mode (roguelike) too

Warning this game really wastes your time :)and needs a big iron despise no graphics.
(Windows/Linux under wine)

A good starting plan... put one miner to dig a large corridor (1 tile wide but leff room to made it 2 or 3 wide tiles later) to find the river, another one to dig a nice 6x6 room to get a carpenter (to get beds), mason workshop (to get doors) and fishery (to clean those fishes you should be fishing with all the other iddle dwarves) and another 6x6 later to store things (food first, later furniture) and install the beds in a temp sleeping quarters.
Once you get to the underground river plan for a riverside underground farm them...
Better yet go to the game wiki and read the "how to survive your 1st winter " guide

Fun game.  A bit taxing though...  Adventure mode is fun as well, but I have yet to even clear any ruin yet...

My characters in adventure mode generally either get limbs broken via wrestling, mobbed, or just owned by strong monsters...

What's Chusok?

Anyhow, I've just found Liberal Crime Squad..

It's so neat to see a bunch of former sweatshop workers in army uniforms going totally bezerk in an animal testing lab.

Chusok is the Korean harvest moon festival. It's a big vacation in the fall of the year. People travel to their hometowns, spend time with family, and perform ancestral rites. Most Koreans compare it to Thanksgiving in North America, but IMO it's closer to Christmas in terms of importance if not in terms of meaning.
