Heh, let me know if there's any you particularly like, or think are overpowered.

I *very* slightly updated the GH2 design file editing page on the wiki.
http://gearheadrpg.com/wiki/index.php?title=Guides:Design_file_editing_%28GH2%29#Movement_Systems

Some day I should maybe do it up proper, but there's also the GH1 page which gives a fair bit of still relevant information.

Oh, and if any of the half dozen or so people who downloaded my latest mecha pack ever build the Ulysses in game, let me know if you enjoyed the idea.  I'm thinking of doing another one of those.

ETA:

Also, upon reviewing some of the files, I laugh at my own jokes:

Corsair Desc: <This variant of the Corsair is sometimes used by duelists who immigrated from earth after doing their initial training.>

Can we have a sub-forum for user designed files created content*? Please??

Seconded, I think. Put it under game mechanics, maybe, if it's not too much trouble?

*Wait, doesn't that mean the same thing? Argh, english...

Broaden it to include patches to the source code and I'm in. It'd be good to have some standard way to make files available too, since many posts will be accompanied by files containing the content.

Super sweet!  I should see if I can find a saved copy of my old GH1 stuff anywhere, like the WWII steam-mecha variant I was working on.

The Bear is currently called "Zimoj Modved", which is not  very correct way to say "It's bear only during the winter". I think the intention was to call it "Zimnoj Medved", which means Winter Bear?

Well he's not been active for over a year, but what the hey, others use these files and I was just testing them out.

Like:
Revenge - It's pretty neat, basically a Warcry variant I rarely see around though.
Odinspear - Fits in well.
Mebsy Variant - Intimidator pistols are awesome.
Marduk - I like to face them, I'd hate to fly them, but I find them a nice addition.
Heavy Shard - Still dislike Groundhuggers, but again, I like the addition.
Goyango - The eyes need to be integral in my opinion, but I like this mecha a lot thanks to theme.
Savins - Awesome, more Savins, and a lower PV workman Savin are all cool.
Hyper Gorilla - Advances the regular gorilla well, I really like this one.
Spiders - Look pretty cool, nice concept, but I've yet to encounter one.
Falcons - Neat little missile specialists, I don't fly aerofighters, but if I did I'd fly a Falcon. Or strip it for its interesting components.
JiguGeomi - I'm not a big fan of all the integrations this one has (unless I'm misremembering), but it's a pretty solid looking mecha.
Hunchback - These little suckers are cool and annoying, that must mean they're doing something right.
Ghost Solider Buru Buru - The -5/-5 is a little terrible, but they're thematic and interesting at least. A bit too common for the concept though. More aerofighters is always good.

No opinion:
Alpha - They're actually sorta less of a poor man's Savin and more of a "Gladius with worse engine armour", I don't think a High Performance Engine was a necessary component to them, but other than that they're not a bad mecha.
Medved - I've never seen them, they look chunky neat, but I'm not too fond of either variety of Zoanoid or Hugger, so I'll hold judgement until one hands my ass to me.
Slugger BB - Ehh, see below on the melee weapons, I think this is one of the better done ones though, and I liked the concept.
Mite
Raven - Still yet to encounter it, it's still in my game since it looks pretty cool on paper.

No like: One major habit is the tendency to have HYPER MEGA ULTRA melee weapons which are pretty much auto-kill if they reach melee range. This actually makes playing a mecha close combat melee specialist harder, not easier, since you have to get close to auto-kill DC 30 weapons (Gorgon) to fight, and that's the last thing melee needs - more risk.

Denkai - Well, tell a lie, actually I love the stealing from the Denkai, a +3 Accuracy, Armour Piercing, AntiAir Beamgun is too good not to love, but a head-cockpit and a HP Engine just make it a little too much. I'd prefer it if it was just Head cockpit and maybe tone the sniper down some, compare it to a Heavy Particle Cannon and drop the goodies down to +1 Acc or so.

Shojo - Too many make them too common, a lot are okay, some are broken (Golden Warrior) and some are overpowered (Gorgeous Punk follows the above-mentioned mega-melee rule, along with a few others). The Adorable Scientist is a bit too potent to be a starter mech considering she's sitting on a powerful gun, a powerful computer and has plenty of extra mounts to load up very easily, some junkier missile weapons would up the price and make it a slightly less golden choice for a starter. In general they're neat if they could be made a bit less frequent and the more questionable ones toned down and polished, but that was too much work for me so I scooched them all out. I'd also prefer it if their name incorporated the X Princess component, not their Registration, but that's a pretty minimal issue. Hopefully one day these will get revisitted, and maybe even split out (Rocket King Shonen!) for a smoother integration

Samurai/Gibralter/Kyuubi - They're all sitting on 0 weight Storage parts. This gets pretty extreme if you abuse it, and inserting an Actuator in there (the Gibralter does it for you with weightless Class 10 Heavy Actuators) gives you more slots to insert into, more weight capacity, and costs virtually nothing. I'm sure there were others, but no zero-weight parts please, we're British.

Folly - Armour Ignore and Armour Piercing? On an infinite use, non-integral weapon that can be traded anywhere? Way too much, it overshadows the whole mech, especially if you include in this consideration Weapon Addons.

Boostunit Buru Buru - I really like the concept, but it's wearing armour lighter than empty Class 5 armour and it's Weapon Addons are the height of overpowered (I literally put those things onto *everything* and killed most enemies before they came into effective range with the firepower superiority). Too many parts that are too good - on other mecha.

MDB - Why was the whole mecha Antibeam? Why a million integral parts? Why hyper-underweight armour? The whole mecha just screamed OTT-jokemech to me, honestly.

Beta - As above, the addons are obscene, Grenade Launchers have the blast radius of a nuke, the sniper arrays set the range and damage of the Folly's megagun to a decent murderiser (and made Ink Sprays even more insane), your addons need toning down, though again, I like the concept of a modular mecha.

Unfortunately I don't believe I got the most up-to-date version, I grabbed the Yahoo one so I don't think I'm covering all of them. I'll snag the up-to-date one now I've found it and give it a go at some point.
