GH2 0623 Bug Reports
« on: March 06, 2010, 11:59:19 AM »
I would seem that you can only salvage (capture? You know, get a working mecha, that used to belong to your enemy) a mecha if all of the mechas in combat have been disabled. Otherwise (if some have been disbled, but other have been destroyed) you can only loot the grayed out corpses, but once you leave the battlefield they're gone forever.

here's and example (note the 2 disabled mecha below):

Also the pronoun "she" seems to be replaced with "her", though maybe that's just in the story texts.

perhaps related to the original bug: sometimes (if he body is intact?) a mech is shown as whole when it has been destroyed. or alternatively a mech is reported destroyed that isn't (a mech that still has it's body, engine and the like is not supposed to be destroyed, right?).

Edit: also, in that save attached to my first 2 posts, you can find a story arc bug- instead of giving clues as to the location of the hero's nemesis (Viqsi Ulzugi) the questgiver (Usjcam) just gives you a mecha assault rifle (which is awesome, but this deadends the plot)

Aha, here's a good place.  Anyway, I seem to have a problem with naked mecha.  In the course of a battle if one of my lancemates gets his mech shot out from under him, sometimes it's repairable afterwards, but it seems they leave their armor and weapons behind.  This has resulted in me running I don't know how many missions now with several utterly weaponless Fortress Savins on my team, which also explains why they keep having problems afterwards.

As a stop-gap 'till/if that gets fixed, the weapons/armor are sitting on top of their machine's wreck. You can manually pick 'em up, assuming you don't get shot out of your machine as well. S'a bit of a nuisance, yeh.

Some error messages at the start of the final battle:

and saves:

Doesn't seem like anything was broken, looks kinda like it's trying to call npcs and failing?

Congratulations, this scripting error gave you the easiest final battle possible... which I guess it's giving to everyone in v0.623. I don't know how I didn't notice this during testing. To fix the problem, edit the file gamedata/aslmacro.txt and repair the following two macros:

IfDCCompleted <GrabStory if# GNAtt NAG_Completed_DC ? 0>

IfDCNotCompleted <GrabStory if= GNAtt NAG_Completed_DC ? 0>

Just find IfDCCompleted and IfDCNotCompleted, and replace them with the lines above.

Quick note, changed those macros out, then tried again from the save file above, looked like I got the same errors.  Might just be that it was already set in the save file, planning on starting a new game anyway, so I'll let you know if/when I get to the end again.

new bug.  This time seeming like an actual bug type bug.  Playing around with Spinner/profession combinations to check out factions trying: New character-Advanced Mode-Male-30 years-Theles Spinner-Mechanic crashes me out with an unhandled exception error.

ETA:  Also 16 years old-Tohru-Scientist, same result

Definitely not that it's set in the save file. You'll need to restart the program after editing the macros, so maybe that's it... it's not very important, anyhow. I'll try to reproduce the character creation bug tomorrow. I tried a few times tonight but got nothing.

Just checked again, yup, looks like I didn't exit out and restart when I checked the final battle the previous time.  Yay. =)

Probably working as intended, but causes me a sadness:

Apparently harnesses can't be set to scale 2?  Kind of a shame, I like the idea of an equipped booster pack for mecha

ETA: IIRC I also ran into this problem with Instruments.

...what?  I wanted a mecha with a scale 2 Keytar.

ETAA: Also Tools

Not a bug, but is it no longer possible to put items in mecha inventory in a design file?  Such as an unequipped gun or repair fuel?

Got a bug: first conversation with my friend "I know you're all excited about getting accepted by are you ready for your meeting with Gordon Valeus at Alliance HQ?"

with the error:

Error: Local macro &ALLYFAC. not found.
WARNING: Script value ARE in -5/2/0.

Lemme know if you want a save file.

It works, I just didn't add a macro for it due to laziness. You can add one yourself; I've just made a note to add the rest of the macros for the next release.
