Yep.  They can definitely hurt your ears if you're stuck in the same room with them.

Frumple:
They only chirp untill you shove a jagged piece of metal in them lengthwise and longarm them into the nearest significant body of water.

Then they just splash... once. Hohoho.

I thought crickets were for killing zombies with? Or maybe that was bats...
