Patch for v1.010
« on: September 04, 2006, 05:21:17 AM »
I added a patch for v1.010 to the Files section of gearhead_dev.

http://f1.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/wKT7RE53Bq4yIeqrGKpfC  qdy-z5-LOW5yiJ5ae0aNkEyZSFtkeQObOaoSUtdBGClA6Wp3l7 QFo4eM58bfBeTzfpStv5RoA/Patches%20%26%20Add-ons/GH 1_1.010_diffs.zip

* spelling/grammar errors
* standardizes some of the menu options so they look the same
* adds support for my ziggurat and fortress sprites
* more detailed weapon info in PC_Equipment
* extra phrases/threats/etc.

My changes to PC_Equipment also contain those changes made by tunginobi on March 2005.

Did you guys manage to extract the archive OK?

Also, I forgot to add that the archive also contains the changes to SDL_Colors that tunginobi made.

Note that the colours were added mostly for aesthetics/choice. The only reason I tinkered with it, apart from wanting some key colours to choose from, is that one of the colours had been mistyped, with a component outside the 0-255 range.

Did you check the PC_Equipment.txt file before archiving it? Some of the gun clip names are redundant (i.e. rifle clips with same stats, but different names so they can't be interchanged). I believe somebody rectified this through a patch that has already been applied.

Yes, I checked for a  lot of that type of stuff, changing the names of a lot of the ammo to make them the same.

I'm having the same problem as goblinarcher.

I am able to extract the .zip file, but all I get is a diff folder that contains .diff files.  I am not sure what to do with these.  I have WindowsXP and am using the version with graphics.

What should I do to take advantage of the patch?

Thanks!

You'll have to wait for Joseph to apply the patch and then release a new version of the game.

I've applied most of the patch. Some of the style changes I didn't like so I left those out. I also didn't apply most of the changes to the equipment file; they type of information included in the weapon descriptions should really be put there by the program. I think that's about it.
