EDIT: Survival REALLY needs to be improved too. I can't remember a single time where survival (the skill) was useful in Gearhead.

On a rare occasion, while using survival on a dragon, you would get a dragon heart, which healed a few hit points if you ate it.

Just what everyone needs.

"On a rare occasion"
That's the problem. Survival needs some beef added to it. It has potential but it has not been reached.

When you run out of food and you are deep in dungeons, a steady supply of mystery meat can ward off hunger and save the day.... I prefer stocking up on Nutrient Pills before dungeon diving....

LOBSTER SHIELDS.
Dude. Lobster shields. Nothing better in the world. Best shield EVAH. Worth every point.
As I mentioned before, in my experience I didn't think survival was worth it. Mostly, this was because a) using in a dungeon takes time and allows monsters to gang up and b) eating mystery meat lowers moral
fast. It might solve the hunger, but the low moral cripples and then I might have to backtrack to the surface anyway to buy a chocolate bar or something.
Also, it doesn't always work and I rarely get anything useful or valuable, aside from meat and the occasional gator skin (which are incredibly dangerous to fight, btw). As I recall, gator skins fetch about $1,500 or so. That's assuming your PC doesn't fail at survival, of course. I don't remember the lobster shell. But then, I don't usually learn how to use a personal-scale shield.
But perhaps others have had better experience? Do you think taking survival is worthwhile as is, or should it have been improved?
