Menu modification?
« on: September 08, 2009, 10:25:45 PM »
Tale of woe, I just sold what was probably the best mech on my arena team (On a team of Gaunt, Bargol, and Gladius, the Skull was the deadliest thing there). The cause was a slipped finger, and naught else.

So my question: Can I mod a confirmation into the menu and, if so, how would I go about it? Alternately, is it possible to mod in an option to toggle the sell option on certain mecha?
Ask not!
What your country can hump for you.

Toggleable for sale/not for sale option for mecha sounds like a good feature

That sounds like a good idea for RPG mode as well. Disallowing the sale of currently assigned/piloted mecha might also be a good idea.

I was going to suggest a confirm for assigned mecha, plus a config option to confirm all mecha sales.

Thumbs up!

While we're discussing modifications to the menu, is there any chance that you could add a display to the inventory menu of how much weight the character is carrying and the amount at which encumbrance modifiers start to be applied?

Another way (or an added protected) might be to program it so that - as long as the PC hasn't stopped talking with the shopkeep and left - the PC is allowed to buy back their mecha (and only the most recently sold mecha) at cost. (Which is basically like telling the used car dealer "Hold it! I haven't finished signing the paperwork and I changed my mind. I'm not selling - the deals off.") But as soon as the PC leaves or stops discussion, it's gone.

I've seen games like this, actually, where you can buy back recently sold stuff.
