I've done it before. Took probably 10-15 deluxe rations and a speedy mech, but I did it.

Now, was it easy and/or practical? No. But when you habitually stuff 50+ rations into your mecha, it's possible.

EDIT: Map would be awesome.

Here's a map of how L5 will eventually look. It's a bit on the small side, unfortunately... I did this just for my own reference.

Here is a map with current in game locations, names and controlling faction.

I just updated the R code I used for a version some time ago.
Quote
maqui <- rgb(75/255,200/255,212/255)
priva <- rgb(20/255,90/255,130/255)
fcoms <- rgb(238/255,198/255,58/255)
rishi <- rgb(122/255,150/255,150/255)
bohem <- rgb(255/255,0/255,0/255)

x<-c(42,38,44,46,28,17,30,20,27,10,31,20,07,16,02,  39)
y<-c(22,21,09,16,26,20,20,24,13,22,30,29,32,31,25,  04)*-1
factions <-c( maqui , maqui , maqui , maqui , fcoms , fcoms ,  maqui , fcoms , fcoms , fcoms , priva , rishi , rishi , rishi , fcoms , bohem )
flabels <- c("maqui","maqui","maqui","maqui","fcoms","fcoms",   "maqui","fcoms","fcoms","fcoms","priva","rishi","r  ishi","rishi","fcoms","bohem")
labels <- c("MaqSp","AthSp","CayRo","CesSp","XiaSp","GaoSp",  "FucSp" ,"KosSp","TohSp","EmeSp","TheSp","YatSp","GalSp","  RisSp","WagSp","CluRo")
plot(x,y,col=factions,bg=factions,pch="*")
text (x,y-1,flabels)
text (x,y+1,labels)

EDIT: Flipped the y coordinate of the map.

Flip that map upside down and you have the map I posted above. The darker pixels are spots where future cities will be located.
