If you're fighting on the outer shell of a spinner and you do enough damage to the terrain, wouldn't that put the inhabitants at risk?

It seems sensible that if damage is done to the spinner, a bunch of people in mechs with precision weapons that won't damage the spinner should turn up to arrest all combatants (or possibly as soon as the battle starts). Does the battle engine permit a battle with three sides at once, or can it only handle us vs. them?

It can handle three or more sides.  One of the Arena missions pits you against two other teams fighting over some thingamajig.  Can't remember what it is.  's been a while.

It seems likely that if the PC is involved in a fight on a colony shell, that they are the people sent by the technocrats to defend the spinner. The other alternative would be that they're the ones attacking the colony and the opponents are the defenders. I don't think there'll be any case where two completely unrelated groups start fighting someplace like that.

Some things I'd like to see are static map objects that give a big "bang" when destroyed. I.e. if you're within the blast radius you take damage.

Collapsing walls/structures would be cool too, but maybe too hard to implement.
