GearHead2 v0.504

I’ve just uploaded a new release of GearHead2 to SourceForge. This version fixes a number of bugs, including the tactics mode lockup and the problems with Yatate Spinner. There are also several new capabilities added to the plot generator. Unfortunately, these new capabilities aren’t yet being used.

Here’s the complete list of changes:

- PlotStatus, SetPlotStatus require PlotID as parameter (aslmacro.txt,asvmacro.txt)
- Plots may now have multiple narrative threads at the same time (mpbuilder.pp)
- Propp state now includes an advancement counter (playwright.pp)
- Lancemate status indicated in NPC’s element context (playwright.pp)
- Added motivation and attitude for core story NPCs (playwright.pp)
- Reloading ammo should now cost a lot less (services.pp)
- Inanimate objects will just wait (aibrain.pp)
- Fixed an infinite loop in the tactics procedure (arenaplay.pp)

I’m making this release now so that I can start doing some terrible, terrible things to the core story. My goal is to have a completable 13-episode “beanpole” adventure by the end of October. In order to achieve this I’m going to create a straight-line path with a minimum of randomness; once this is in place, I can start to add more component branches and count on the beanpole to prevent deadends.
